These are my animations in Adobe Flash CS6. Click the "Go" buttons to start the animation, and click "Stop" to stop the animation. Each animation will only run one time when the Go button is pressed.
For this assignment, I used individual keyframes to animate my first project in Flash Animation. First, I drew the background and the ramp. Then, I drew a person on a skateboard and animated him to go off the ramp and do tricks (he did a front flip, then balanced on a rail). I was introduced to symbols earlier on when working on this assignment, because I realized that the drawing object had glitches as it moved (it erased some parts that weren’t selected in the keyframe by accident). I converted the person into a symbol so this wouldn’t happen later on.
The shape tween assignment’s objective was to get an object to transform or merge into text or another object using the shape tween tool. First, in photoshop, I drew “Bumblebee”, a transformer (based off of the movies). I drew him in both robot form and car form, and used the shape tween tool to make a smooth transition from one image to the next. Finally, I added a gradient background so that the project didn’t seem too simple.
For this assignment, I learned how to use a "guide" layer to easily make classic tweens have curved pathways. My project was inspired by the video game "Sonic". First, I drew the figure, and shape tweened him into a ball (since that is how he looks when he is in motion). Then, I linked the drawn figure into a guide layer and classic tweened him along a certain path. Since the tween had a guide motion layer attached to it, it followed the guide. To make smoke effects, I had a symbol inside of a symbol that constantly added glow and smoke particles to the figure.
In this assignment, the goal was to make usage of symbols, an efficient way to make multiple copies of the same image while keeping the file size of the animation smaller. First, I drew a tennis court and the players, and drew a tennis ball. I made this tennis ball a movie clip symbol and used motion tween to make the ball bounce across the court when it was hit.
For this assignment, I used glow and opacity to make fireworks. First, I used the PolyStar tool to draw a star with many points in a way that it looked like a firework explosion. Then, I shape tweened a firework rocket that was launched into the explosion. Using motion tween, I made the fireworks change size and shape, while adding glow and making them fade over time.

For my second assignment in Photoshop, I created two different layers and animated both of them. I was inspired by the “Animation vs. Animator” video to create a platformer video game in which the stickman kicks one of the moving platforms and has to find another way to reach the finish line. I used classic and motion tweens to move the background smoothly, and used keyframes to animate the person. Because I didn’t know about bone tool, animating the person to move was a tedious process of redrawing the person’s limbs over and over again. However, the end result was worth the work.
For this assignment, I used the bone tool on a drawn figure in an attempt to make it walk fluidly. A few glitches made it challenging to make it fluid. First, I drew the individual limbs on a layer and made them symbols. Then, I used the bone tool within the symbol timeline to animate the parts. Using the bone tool “armatures”, I moved around individual limbs and joints on the timeline in “poses”. Since the timeline was in a symbol, the poses would repeat itself automatically, making it look like the figure was actually walking
In my "Mother's Day Trace" assignment, the goal was to trace a flower taken from an image in google and make it appear. We could also add other elements that represent Mother's Day. Since my mom likes the color blue, my project revolved around the color blue. I traced a blue rose, and used motion tween to make it appear when the trace was complete. Then, I added stars with a glow effect. Finally, I made a podcast in garage band to add music to my project.
For this assignment, I utilized Adobe Flash as a way to make a short movie about myself. Using all the animating techniques I learned, I drew an avatar and things that I like. I used classic, motion, and shape tween to make transitions from one topic to the next smooth. I also added glow effects to make certain images stand out. Finally, I recorded my voice to discuss the various things that I like.
The goal of this assignment was to use opacity and filters to make it look like the animation was underwater. I used bevel and emboss on the boulders to make them look 3D, and used an outer glow or shadow on the sand to make the transition from one layer to the next smooth. I used bone tool and shape tween to make kelp sway with the water and bubbles rise from sea vents. Finally, I drew sea creatures to swim across the screen.
